GEO 601 - Seminar in Research Techniques: Finding Books

When should I use books?

Academic books are great resources for learning high-level general information about topics, or for finding lots of detailed information about a specific topic. Many academic books have chapters all along the same theme that are authored by different people. If you are having a hard time finding general information or if you are tired of trying to narrow down your journal article results list, try searching for books in the Libraries' catalog.

Note about BEST Library

Depending on your research interests, you may see several books you want to read listed as being located at the BEST Library. This was our STEM library up until int closed in the summer of 2020. We are in the process of moving the books over to King, but not everything has made it over yet. If you find a book you want to read that it located in BEST, you will need to use the Request Item link in the catalog and ask that it be delivered to King for you to pick up.
