Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Heritage Programming

Heritage Programming

Miami University Libraries has joined the Office of Institutional Diversity & Inclusion in celebrating history and heritage weeks, months, and special events.  According to the OIDI website, "Heritage Month programming supports Miami’s inclusive excellence and DEI mission and connects to, among other areas, DEI Task Force Recommendation, Pillar 2: Cultural Consciousness, which encourages the Miami University community to enhance our awareness, knowledge, and skills to enrich and renew our intercultural competence."

One of the primary ways the Libraries observe these occasions is through resource guides.  Each history and heritage guide includes books, articles, movies, databases, and more in order to provide resources to engage with diverse cultures.

In addition, the Libraries coordinate a display case to showcase some of the materials in the Libraries' collection.  When you walk in the main entrance, check out the second case on the north side!

More information on heritage programming, including a calendar of observances, can be found here.
