LibGuides Standards & How-to's

Your go-to place for creating Miami University LibGuides

Accessible Versions of LibGuides

Did you know that LibGuides can be viewed in a more accessible format?  A screen reader can more easily "read" a version that has been stripped of formatting.  When using a screen reader, there will be a link at the top of the page for the alternate version.

You can Print Guide or Print Page which is also the accessible version.

Go to Springshare's "Accessible Versions of Pages" to learn more or see examples.

How to Create an Accessible Document

If you plan to upload a document to a LibGuide, ensure it is accessible.  Contact Katie Gibson if you need assistance.

WAVE

This tool can be used to check the accessibility of any web page.

From the WAVE link you can also download a Chrome or Firefox extension. Click the extension icon for a quick overview of accessibility issues you might have on your page. The site also have extensive help on how to use the service.
