Professional Development - Librarians

The purpose of the Professional Development Section in an annual report and dossier is to highlight that you are increasing your knowledge and staying current with professional trends. However, attending sessions, workshops, conferences, webinars, etc. are important, but are not your achievements and should not overshadow your record of hard work in your PPR, areas of service, and scholarship.

Guidelines:

• Begin with a section overview as with the other sections of your report
• List out professional development activities
• Include a brief few words describing the format of the activity
  • If you would like to include more detailed descriptions, put them in supporting materials
