Data used in your research should always be cited
- It validates your work
- It lets others explore and extend your research
- It rewards data producers so that useful data will continue to be shared in the future
Include the following when citing data
- Name of dataset
- Principal Investigators or Authors of data
- Date of data
- Version of data
- Publisher or Archiver of data
- Permanent URL linking to actual data (not repository). By including the DOI or other permanent, direct URL, you make it easier for researchers to connect with your data.
