Swank Digital Campus provides a customizable academic streaming library of over 25,000 feature films, documentaries and foreign films from the largest movie studios, including Walt Disney, Warner Bros., Paramount, NBCUniversal, Columbia Pictures, Lions Gate, MGM, Miramax and many more. SWANK videos can be embedded in Canvas and watched on tablets/mobile devices. Information about these options is available online. Click "more" for login information.
The University libraries leases content from SWANK on an item-by-item basis. Requests for the Libraries to lease an item can be made on the SWANK web site by a faculty member or your subject librarian. Because of the costs and limited duration of SWANK rental agreements, we prioritize content needed for coursework and research purposes. Because each request must be considered individually, requests may take several working days to process; please plan accordingly.
To browse films available via SWANK, please use Miami University's SWANK Digital Campus. Search for films via the category dropdown menu, search box, or use the Advanced Search. The titles that appear on the SWANK homepage are titles that are currently leased by Miami University Libraries.
The Swank interface is different for faculty and students. Faculty may search and request access to titles not currently leased by using the basic or advanced search box, while Miami student can browse and view already leased content on Swank.
Instructors can request access to a title by clicking Request under the film's name. You will be directed to a request form (see example below). Once you fill out this form and hit "Send Request" your request is in process.
SWANK videos are leased 1 year. Lease end dates are available in SWANK. Click into the film and the lease end date should be below the video.
Films that have been leased via SWANK can be looked up in the Miami Library Catalog using the "Books and More" tab on the Miami Library home page. Please allow for processing time. Catalog records for SWANK titles include information about the date when particular titles will become unavailable and will need to be requested again. This information will appear in the "Notes" field of the item's catalog record. See below.
