Submissions are due 

March 10 at 11:59pm 

via the online application.

 

Award Categories and Prizes

  • First Prize: $750

  • Second Prize: $300

  • Third Prize: $200

Notification & Prize Disbursement

Notification

  • Applicants will be notified in April whether or not they received a research award. The awards will be presented at the annual Undergraduate Research Forum.

Prize Disbursement

  • All awards will be presented at a Libraries Award event in the Spring Semester.

  • Winners will be required to deposit their essay and project files to Miami’s Scholarly Commons.

  • Awards to groups will be split equally among group members.

  • Awards are considered taxable income and could influence scholarship eligibility. Winnings will be reported to the IRS, and winners will receive a 1099 form.

The Fine Print

  • Award applicants authorize Miami University Libraries to use their likeness in photographs in any or all of their printed and/or digital publications. Photographs will become the property of the Miami University Libraries.
  • Miami University Libraries reserve the right not to award a category at its own discretion and without recourse to the entrants.
  • Miami University Libraries reserve the right to change award amounts or discontinue the award program in its entirety.
  • Award applicants may be required to sign a FERPA release.
  • Award applicants will provide the Miami University Libraries a non-exclusive license to publish their work in the Scholarly Commons and/or portions of their work in any or all of their printed and/or digital publications.
