About

What is a standard?

"Think of them as a formula that describes the best way of doing something. It could be about making a product, managing a process, delivering a service or supplying materials – standards cover a huge range of activities."  -ISO (International Standards Organization)

"Standards are agreed ways of doing something, written down as a set of precise criteria so they can be used as rules, guidelines or definitions." - bsi (British Standards Institution)

Where can I find them?

Similar to journal articles you can find them on various websites that publish them, but often times the full text is not free. It can be helpful to browse the publisher's sites to know what you are looking for, but you can also look at the library's resources to see what's available.

Does the Library have them?

The library has a small collection of standards, mostly available in the IEEExplore database. You can search for them in the library's catalog or directly in the database. Please ask a librarian if you have questions.
