Locating funding for your project?  The Office of Research and Innovation has partnered with the GrantsFoward, a subscription-based source of funding opportunity information for most disciplines. Miami students, faculty, and staff can use GrantForward free of charge.

GrantForward provides you with:

  • GrantForward's specialized search algorithm and team of specialists allows us to constantly add new and accurate funding opportunities

  • GrantForward's adaptive search filters make it quick and easy to find the perfect grant opportunities to start moving your research forward.

  • GrantForward incorporates a dynamic search engine with a personalized funding recommendation service to simplify the grant search process.

Additionally, you can schedule a meeting with a member of the libraries' Data Services team to assist you with learning and using GrantForward.  This service can be requested by asking your subject librarian or by emailing dataplans@miamioh.edu.

Data Management Plans(DMP) Review
We can offer guidance and review your plans in preparation for applying for grant funding.  We also can help you access the university-sponsored DMPTool that will help guide you through making a DMP.  You can also find the DMP tool on the Databases A-Z section of the library's main website.

DMP Tool

Funder-Specific DMP Requirements

Some funders, such as the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), require a DMP for most grant types.  The Libraries can help you use the DMPTool and review the requirements for the agency you are working with to ensure that you have all the correct information and the correct plan for your grant type.

Other funders may also require DMPs and can get help with those as well as the NIH and NSF Data Management Plans, by emailing dataplans@miamioh.edu or contacting your subject librarian.

SciENcv

SciENcv logo

SciENcv is a researcher profile system for all individuals who apply for, receive, or are associated with research investments from federal agencies, particularly NIH or NSF. You can get assistance with learning and using this product by emailing dataplans@miamioh.edu or contacting your subject librarian.

ORCID

ORCID logo

ORCID, which stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID, is a Non-Profit id system used by many researchers.  It can be linked to your SciENcv and GrantFoward accounts.  While Miami University does not have an organizational account, some ORCID assistance can be obtained by emailing dataplans@miamioh.edu or contacting your subject librarian.
