Makerspace: Recommended Materials List

Looking to buy your own materials?

What materials should I bring in?

So you have been asked to bring in materials to use with our equipment and you are wondering what should you bring in? We we hope that this guide will help you find what you are looking for, if you do not see what you need you can always reach out to us at create@miamioh.edu. 

Suggested Materials

Here is our list of recommended materials for us in the Makerspace. 

  1. 3D Printer Filament - All of the following can be found at Amazon
    1. Polymaker
    2. Panchroma
    3. Hatchbox
  2. Buttons 1.5" and 2.25" - we order our button from the American Button Company
  3. Vinyl sticker paper, we recommend Oracle 631 that can be purchased through Amazon
  4. Heat Transfer Vinyl, We like Sizer EasyWeed for heat transfer vinyl. This can be ordered from Amazon.
  5. Sticker Paper, We use Online Labels for all of our sticker needs. what ever you purchase needs to be for laser printers. 
  6. Glowforge Materials, We use only Proofgrade materials in our Glowforges. all the materials can be purchased from Glowforge.
  7. Sublimation Paper, Most brands will work with our sublimation printer but we personally purchase A-sub sublimation paper from Amazon.
  8. Lamination sheets, We use Scotch thermal laminating pouches 3mil. We order ours from Amazon.
