Access data collected by BLS regions: New England, New York–New Jersey, Mid–Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, Mountain–Plains, and West.

The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is the primary source for data on colleges, universities, and technical and vocational postsecondary institutions in the United States. The IPEDS online system provides different tools for variable level (admission, graduation rate, etc), institutional level and state level comparisons.

Universities conduct campuswide "barometers" surveys such as National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE http://http://nsse.iub.edu/), Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) to assess campuswide issues. The universities normally release reports and findings which are excellent resources for individuals to get specific information about a campus. I am showing the survey reports released by Miami as an example.

Citation indexes are sophisticated tools for searching for publication from a specific geographic area or an institution.

Tools like SciVal (not many universities can afford it) connects research ideas, projects, publication on campus and make them searchable. A good tool to be used to find what research focuses on a campus.
