Recording Interviews

There are many reasons you might wish to record and interview, capturing video and audio of one or more people talking for an extended period. For example:

  • You might want to record yourself giving a talk or lecture, or a professional presentation.
  • You might make a recording of a person for an oral history project.
  • You might be creating a documentary or conducting journalistic interviews.

This guide provides information about capturing quality audio and video of people you are interviewing, and on creating useful interview questions.

However you should also be aware that that there may be ethical and legal issue involving informed consent to in connection with recording video and audio. Please make sure to ask your instructor about any ethical and legal requirements associated with any assignment hey have created.
