Video Creation Resources: Home
Overview
With audio-visual recording tools and editing software available at King Library, you have the resources you need to create high-quality video content. This guide provides information about video technology and software resources available through the Miami Libraries, together with a selection of short video clips that provide advice about best practices for creating thoughtful, effectively recorded, and carefully edited video content.
Video/Audio Equipment Checkout
- Library Equipment Checkout (1st floor Library Circulation Desk)The libraries offer a wide range of technology you can checkout to support your coursework (and your enjoyment). Come to a library checkout desk with your university ID to borrow equipment. Log into computers/iPads while on-campus with your ID/password and you will be ready to go!
- Library Equipment Checkout (3rd floor Library Makerspace)Our combination Video Production and Audio Lab is equipped with a podcasting station, as well as a filming backdrop and cameras. We also have a teleprompter and various microphones.
- Engaging Technology Lab (McGuffey 214)The Engaging Technology Lab (ETL), McGuffey 214, a state-of-the-art space used by students and faculty, both independently and collaboratively, to explore how technology can transform teaching and learning. While McGuggey 214 is open to all Miami students and faculty, it is not administered by the Miami Libraries.
Video Editing Tools: Miami Resources
- Adobe Premiere Pro (Adobe Creative Cloud)Adobe Premiere Pro is available at Miami. Students (but not faculty or staff) can "check out" licenses to Adobe Creative Cloud, and can then download Adobe Products to use on a PC or Mac. These licenses can be borrowed for up to two weeks, and will then need to be checked out again. There are 100 licenses available to borrow at Miami.
- Final Cut ProFinal Cut Pro is available at Miami. Students (but not faculty or staff) can "check out" licenses to Final Cut Pro, and can then download it use on Mac (there is no PC version of Final Cut Pro). These licenses can be borrowed for up to two weeks, and will then need to be checked out again. There are 100 licenses available to borrow at Miami.
