APC 401 (Hamilton): Find Articles

General and Subject Specific Databases

Communication and Mass Media Complete - Our most comprehensive search tool for finding articles from scholarly communication journals. Use the "FindIt" button to see if an item is available full text. Click on the name of the database to cross-search other useful databases, like Academic Search Complete.

Academic Search Complete is a general database for scholarly articles in many disciplines. You can limit to Scholarly/Peer-Reviewed articles and get citations in different styles. For a full list of our databases, see the "Databases A-Z" page on the library website. Contact a librarian if you aren't sure which database to use.

Google Scholar - Find both books and articles, and see how many times an item has been cited by others.  The image below shows a Google Scholar item with the "Cited by" and full text link.

From off-campus, you will have to set up Google Scholar to allow you to access Miami's subscription content. See below for steps:

  • Click "Settings" at the top of the opening page.
  • Select "Library Links."
  • Type in Miami University in the search box.
  • Click the box for "Miami University Libraries - Find It @MiamiOH"
  • Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom.
