Open Access and Publishing Resources: Publishing and Open Access Resources

About Open Access and Publishing at Miami

Publishing and Open Access

Miami University Libraries, working with partners like the Office of Institutional Research and OhioLINK, offers researchers looking to publish in Open Access journals assistance with article publication charges (APC).  These agreements have some limitations, including:

  • The Open Access Publishing benefits have fixed annual usage limits, and the options will not be available once the limits are reached.
  • The offers are available to current and emeritus Miami faculty, staff, and students.
  • Some journals are excluded, including for some publishers their so-called "Gold OA" titles (non-subscription titles not included in OhioLink subscription agreements).
  • Specific requirements for each agreement -- please see further details for specific publishers linked below.

OhioLINK has negotiated five agreements for its institutions’ authors, while the Office of Research and Innovation currently has limited funds under its Publication, Reprint, Exhibition, and Performance (PREP) program.

More information on each of the agreements, including restrictions and other important information, is provided in this guide.  For additional information or if you have questions, please reach out to the librarians listed in the sidebar or your subject specialist librarian..

They also provide access to a broad range of high-quality research articles from these publishers.  The agreements are with the following publishers. More information on each can be found on the OhioLINK agreements pagePublishers Logos
