Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN)
The Autistic Self Advocacy Network seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movement with regard to autism. ASAN believes that the goal of autism advocacy should be a world in which autistic people enjoy equal access, rights, and opportunities. We work to empower autistic people across the world to take control of our own lives and the future of our common community, and seek to organize the autistic community to ensure our voices are heard in the national conversation about us. National Council on Severe Autism
The NCSA, however, focuses on the burgeoning population of children and adults affected by severe forms of autism or related disorders. We are committed to improving the long-term welfare of individuals, families and caregivers affected by severe forms of autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders.
Autism Speaks
Autism Speaks is dedicated to creating an inclusive world for all individuals with autism throughout their lifespan. We do this through advocacy, services, supports, research and innovation, and advances in care for autistic individuals and their families.
Organization for Autism Research (OAR)
The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) was created in December 2001 – the product of the shared vision and unique life experiences of OAR’s seven founders. Led by these parents and grandparents of autistic children and adults, OAR set out to use applied science to answer questions that autistic individuals, their parents, families, teachers, and caregivers confront daily. No other autism organization has this singular focus.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar links often take you to a publisher's website where you can buy a copy of the article you have just found. You can avoid this by linking Google Scholar to the Miami University Libraries. After you have set this up, you will see a link to the right of articles that says "Find it @MiamiOH". This link will take you to a page that shows whether or not the MU Libraries have already paid for the article through one of our subscriptions.

To link Google Scholar to the MU Libraries on your device, take the following steps:

Go to https://scholar.google.com.
Click the Menu icon in the top left next to "Google Scholar".
Click Settings.
Click Library Links.
Type Miami University into the search box and hit enter.
Check the box next to "Miami University Libraries - Find It @MiamiOH".
Click Save.
