As of July 1 2019, the University Libraries lease content from Kanopy on an item-by-item basis. Requests for the Libraries to lease an item can be made on the Kanopy web site or to your subject selector. Because of the costs and limited duration of Kanopy rental agreements, we prioritize content needed by faculty and students for coursework and research purposes. Requests may take several working days to process; please plan accordingly. More information about Kanopy and streaming video at Miami.

The database draws from 150 years of musical theater repertoire, ranging from well-known standards to rare finds to help find the right songs quickly and easily. As an added feature, once a list of titles is generated, the database provides links to various sites that allow you to buy, rent, trade or download the sheet music or recordings.
Many of the works are rare, hard-to-find, or out of print. Nearly a quarter of the collection will consist of previously unpublished plays. Each play is extensively indexed, allowing both keyword and multi-fielded searching. The plays are accompanied by reference materials, significant ancillary information, a rich performance database, and images resulting in a collection that illustrates the many purposes that theater has served. Also includes the "Native Playwrights' Newsletter" (1993-96) a unique resource containing original essays, articles, photographs, interviews, reviews, and production information related to the plays.
