Online brainstorming tools

Organizing Your Sources

You might want to consider using a tool like Zotero to organize your sources and create a bibliograpy.  With Zotero, you won't have to worry about losing a relevant article or incorrectly writing down the citation information.  We have a Zotero Basics Guide and a Zotero Advanced Guide that you might find helpful.

You might also want to use a tool like Evernote to clip relevant websites and take notes that you can easily accesss no matter what device you are on.

General Library Information

Since you won't have access to the physical materials at Miami University Libraries, you may want to plan ahead and check out some materials before you go.  You could take the physical materials with you, though if someone requests the books while you have them checked out, you won't have an easy way to return them.  You may want to scan or photocopy relevant chapters to use while you are there.

You should have access to all of our online materials by going to our website at www.lib.miamioh.edu.  You'll just need to make sure you are logged in to our website.  The first time you click on a resource, it should prompt you to log on with your unique ID and password (same thing you use to log in to MyMiami or your e-mail).

If we don't have online access to a journal article, you may be able to request a pdf copy of it using interlibrary loan.

You may also want to check out the Dolibois Center Library while you are there.

If there's anything you can't find, please don't hesitate to ask Humanities Librarians Katie Gibson (gibsonke@MiamiOH.edu) and Erin Vonnahme (vonnahee@MiamiOH.edu).
