VR, AR, & Data Visualization: Home

About the Data Visualization & Virtual Reality Lab

Come explore virtual and augmented realities, journey to distant worlds, poetic spaces, data landscapes, recreations of historical sites, and simulations of anything imaginable. Come paint, sculpt, and model in VR, then print out your work using our 3D printer

Our DataViz/VR Lab is equipped with an HTC Vive, Alienware desktop, and large viewing screens - including a touch screen to help maximize both your VR and DataViz experiences. Coming soon are Oculus Quests, 360 video cameras, and support for augmented reality projects. On special request, an Oculus Rift is also available. Students and faculty alike are encouraged to reach out to our new VR specialist, Dr Steve Guynup, for more information on how VR and AR are being used in their respective fields or majors. Talks, tours, and targeted support for projects available on request. The best first step is just to keep an open mind and come explore.
