The library strives to maintain a collection that reflects the diversity and dynamics of its community. Our catalog uses standardized metadata and descriptions to organize our collection. We acknowledge that our collection descriptions may contain outdated, insensitive, or inaccurate language. There are materials in our collections that may represent offensive and objectionable positions, norms, and values. These historical materials and descriptions do not reflect the Library's viewpoint, but rather the social attitudes and circumstances of the time or place when they were written. Providing access to these materials provides opportunities to learn from the past.
Each library book is shelved according to its call number, based on the Library of Congress classification system. They can be in multiple locations. For example, psychology of sex will be in the BF's while sexual health will be in R's (medicine). Some really great search terms to start with are sexuality, "sexual instruction", and "sexual health". Another great place to start are the hyperlinked subject headings in the book records that are already linked to this page.
