In September 2019, university leadership unveiled MiamiRISE, its strategic plan. It aims to “drive transformational change to guide Miami through unprecedented volatility in higher education.” As the world grapples with the scope of the coronavirus pandemic, many of the forces driving change in higher education have been accelerated, underscoring the importance and significance of this robust strategic plan.
Among the most visible steps toward MiamiRISE is the university’s investment in two new buildings: the Clinical Health Sciences Building and the Richard M. McVey Data Science Building.
Four pillars make up the foundation: research, scholarship and artistry; innovation; student success; and engagement.
